MABB Bi-Weekly Question: My Go-To Fall Fragrances

Photobucket

Every other Wednesday, the Metro Atlanta Beauty Bloggers will answer a beauty-related question just for fun! This week's question is...

What are your go-to fall fragrances?

Fall is finally here which means it's time to bring out the fall fragrances! Personally, Fall is my favorite time to wear warm, deeper scents. Everyone needs to keep in mind that certain scents won't be the same on you as they do on me and vice versa. The way a fragrance smells on you depends on a lot of factors such as stress, mood, etc. My top 3 fall scents are:

Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift

Description: A charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits kisses, a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence with alluring top notes of freesia, apple blossom, raspberry, vanilla, sandalwood, white hibiscus, golden amber, honey suckle and lush peach.

Price: 0.33 oz Roll On - $20 | 1.7 oz - $49.50 | 3.4 oz - $59.50

Thoughts: I got this perfume around this time last year and I adore it! I've noticed that I tend to use it more in the fall and winter months versus the summer months. It smells very mature and sophisticated but somewhat sweet at the same time.

Pink Sugar by Aquolina

Description: Bergamot, Sicilian orange, raspberry, fig leaves, lily of the valley, licorice, strawberry, red fruit, cotton candy, musk, sandalwood, tonka bean and powdery notes.

Price: 0.34 oz Roll On - $20 | 1 oz - $30 | 1.7 oz - $45 | 3.4 oz - $60

Thoughts: This perfume smells like a straight up sugar cookie and I LOVE it!! If you love scents like warm vanilla sugar, then you definitely need to try this one out!

Gris Montaigne by Christian Dior
Description: A burst of citrus, a floral accord, a woody note heightened with Patchouli set against an ambery backdrop of moss.

The top note: BERGAMOT ESSENCE Reggio Calabria - is the first olfactory impression and most volatile. Grown in Southern Italy, essence of bergamot is obtained by cold expression of the peel. It brings a distinct, sweet freshness to fragrances.
The heart note: DAMASCENA ROSE ABSOLUTE - is the fragrance's core and lasts for several hours. Native to Turkey, the Damask rose is essential to the perfumer's palette. It exudes a subtly spicy and almost masculine floral note.
The base note: MACEDONIAN MOSS ABSOLUTE - lasts the longest and can be perceived in clothing for several months. Macedonian Moss comes from a light green lichen that is a cross between algae and a fungus. Its scent evokes the forest floor, wavering between the moist, woody notes of mushrooms and the slightly tangy notes that recall its sea origins.

Price: 4.25oz - $170.00 | 8.50oz - $250.00

Thoughts: I know the price is VERY high but I can say without a doubt that this fragrance is the absolute BEST one I have ever smelt! I was graciously given this product at a beauty blogger brunch at Saks Fifth Avenue and I fell absolutely in love with it. I use it very sparingly because I don't ever want to run out of it!

  1. It's so funny, but so true...perfume smells different on everyone. I had that Dior and gave it away, it was overwhelming on me. But the Taylor Swift sounds intriguing. I need to check it out.

  2. I'm addicted to most gourmand scents in during the colder months but my absolute favorite would be Angel by Thierry Mugler. At first I really abhorred it because it can get too cloying. Then, I discovered that I just need to apply a very tiny amount for it to smell just right. I'm absolutely in love with the fierceness of chocolate and elegance of vanilla in its base. I can also detect a hint of blackberries in the opening even if that's not listed in its official notes. Pink Sugar by Aquolina was a huge favorite during my college days. I think I'll have to revisit this gem one of these days. ;)
