Autumn Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Neya from Neya V Beauty Talk to do the Autumn tag! Fall is my favorite season so I'm really excited to be doing this tag! :)

Favorite thing about Autumn?

  • My absolute favorite thing about this time of year is the change in weather.. the breeze, changing colors of the leaves and cool nights are the best!! My birthday is a few days before Halloween so I'm a fall baby by heart which probably explains my love for this time of year! I also LOVE the fall fashion and all the holidays that come with the changing of the season!

Favorite drink?
  • I really enjoy drinking hot apple cider and hot chocolate. I'm not a hot tea or coffee drinker so I stick to the easy drinks! :)

Favorite scent or candle?
  • I love the Autumn candle that I get from Bath and Body Works! I haven't gone back this year to stock up on my fall candles yet but I'm sure I will have a few new favorites very soon!! Another scent I love is pumpkin.. pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice, pumpkin cupcakes.. pumpkin ANYTHING!

Best lipstick?
  • I'm still new to this lipstick thing. The darker colors scare me a bit. I feel really weird wearing color but I'm trying to get used to it! Right now, I'm just trying to get myself comfortable with the idea of wearing darker lips! I do enjoy wearing stains at the moment because they last a long time and you don't have to worry about them going away.

Go to moisturizer?
  • I don't have a specific one I use on a daily basis.. I just use any thick moisturizer I have on hand because my skin gets more dry during these months.

Favorite go to color for the eyes?
  • I really enjoy using neutral colors: golds, warm browns, creams. I also like to do a smokey eye every once in a while!

Favorite music to listen to?
  • I listen to all types of music.. my weakness lately is dubstep and songs I used to listen to in high school.

Favorite outfit to wear?
  • I enjoy wearing leggings or jeans and an oversized sweater. Super comfy clothes for me!! :)

Favorite Autumn treat?
  • Pumpkin anything!

Favorite place to be?
  • At home cuddled up on the couch with my buns and baby boy! When the weather gets cooler, I love being snuggled up and staying warm.

That's it for the questions! I tag all of you to do this tag!! :) Comment below with a link to your post and I will check it out!

Tarte Beauty & The Box Amazonian Clay Eye Shadow Quad - Review

Hey ladies! Today I am doing a review on a Tarte eyeshadow quad! By now, you all know that I love me some neutrals! And now that fall is almost here, it's the perfect time to add more to my collection (I like to use that as an excuse with my husband.. shhhh!) :)

I was browsing through eyeshadows online at Sephora and came across this quad. It caught my eye with the beautiful bronzy shades and that very reasonable price- $14! That's the equivalent to $3.50 per eyeshadow which, to me, is a steal!

Packaging
  • easy for traveling/on-the-go purposes
  • cute floral and wooden design
  • convienent

Shades
  • rich and creamy
  • glide on skin like butter
  • very easy to blend
  • all the colors go very well together

Overall Opinion
I LOVE this quad! I think it's the perfect colors for the fall. The colors are very versatile- you could do a day or nighttime look using these colors. During the day, you could use the light champagne shade all over the lid, the white as a highlight and the dark bronze as a eyeliner (smudged on upper and lower lash line). During the night, you could put the gold shade all over the lid, the white a a highlight and the dark bronze as a crease color and eyeliner. Of course there are many other ways you could achieve some looks but this is one of the ways that popped into my head when I saw the colors!

I hope you enjoyed this quick review! Let me know if you have a product you would like me to review in the comments below! :)

Do you have this quad? What's your opinion on it? Would you pick this boxed eyeshadow quad over any other eyeshadows and if not, which palette do you like the most?

My Makeup Weakness: MABB Bi-Weekly Question

Photobucket

Every other Wednesday, the Metro Atlanta Beauty Bloggers will answer a beauty-related question just for fun! This week's question is...

What makeup items are you more likely to splurge on?

I would have to say that the item I usually want the most often is a new eyeshadow palette! I don't know what it is about them but anytime I see one I don't have, something in my head says I HAVE to have it! Around the holidays is when it gets pretty bad for me.. All the brands release their holiday collections which usually have AMAZING eyeshadow palettes and I want them all! I currently have my eye on AT LEAST 7 eyeshadow palettes.. and I'm sure that number will increase once I see more holiday collection releases!

September Wantable Box Review

Hey everyone!

I recently got the opportunity to review a Wantable box. If you don't know what Wantable is, it is a monthly subscription service. There are 3 different categories to choose from and sometimes they have limited edition boxes for certain seasons. For example, right now they have a Halloween Box which contains makeup products to help you achieve the perfect Halloween look!

The three main boxes are:

1. Makeup Box

  • 4-6 full-size premium makeup products
  • The products available change by month! For September, products from Jordan Liberty, Lise Watier, LAQA & Co., Cailyn Cosmetics, and Manna Kadar were available.

2. Accessories Box

  • 3-4 boutique jewelry pieces

3. Intimates Box

  • 4-5 premium essentials
  • Flirty panties, sporty tanks, essential camis, cozy socks, stylish tights, and comfy soft bras from the leading brands like Jockey, Coobie, Pheel, Argoz, and Muk Luks!
  • *This is a new box! Apparently the September box sold out within 24 hours! Isn't that crazy?!

So how does this work? It's simple! All you do is create an account at wantable.com and choose the category (makeup, intimates, accessories, or a limited edition box) you want to purchase. There will be a questionnaire so that they can learn more about you and your style and what you like and what you don't like- this helps them find the perfect products for YOU!

Next, you choose whether you want to purchase a one-time box or subscribe for monthly boxes. If you subscribe for monthly boxes, you can always skip a month or cancel without any penalty. Obviously if you purchase the one-time box, you can always subscribe for a monthly subscription later on if you decide you enjoyed the box! *Remember that monthly subscription boxes ship automatically each month- so if you do decide to cancel or skip, do so before the shipment!*

Prices:
Monthly Subscription Box: $36/month
One-Time Box: $40

*Another great thing about Wantable is if you aren't satisfied with the products you received in your box, you can return it for a full refund, no questions asked!

Let's get onto the box, shall we? I chose the makeup box (shocker, right?!) because I clearly have a makeup addiction! I was very pleased with the products I received! I have only heard of one of the products before but I love learning about new brands and I think that subscribing to subscription services is one way of doing that!

Here is just an overview of what I received. I wish I had taken a picture of the packaging because I was amazed at knowledgable they were. They had foam sheets packed inside to ensure there wouldn't be any broken items!

Michael Marcus Brow Pencil in Brunette - ($24)
I've never heard of this brand before but I was super happy to see it in my box! I had been contemplating getting a new product for my brows because I wasn't really satisfied with my current one (ELF brow kit), I just hadn't gotten around to it.

I really like that it has the brush on the end so that you don't have to worry about carrying a brush around with you!

I haven't tested this out with my brows yet, so I'm not sure if the color is going to match (fingers crossed!!)

Here is just a swatch of the brow pencil color.

Lise Watier Solo Eye Shadow Powder in Aubergine - ($18)
I have never heard of this brand either but as soon as I opened the package, I fell in love with the color! It is the PERFECT color for fall! I love me some purples and this was the perfect shade! The eye shadow consistency reminds me a lot of LORAC- it's buttery smooth and glides on your skin perfectly!

The packaging is SUPER cute! :)

Here is a swatch of the beautiful purple eye shadow!

Japonesque Travel Smudger Brush - ($14.50)
This is the only brand I had any knowledge about! I always see their brushes at Ulta! As you can see by the price, they are a tad on the pricey side.. especially for a TRAVEL sized brush! Nevertheless, I know I will enjoy this brush!

Manna Hi Def Mattifying Powder - ($34)
The brand name sounds very familiar but I can't think of any items from them that would ring a bell! I'm really excited to try this powder out! Even though I have dry skin, I am going to use this to set my foundation and concealer so that it will stay in place all day!

I love that it has a sifter! I'm terrified of having a loose powder without a sifter because knowing my luck, it would be all over me or all over the floor!

The last thing I received was this little sample of Lise Watier Cream Eye Shadow. The two colors I have samples of are Sunrise Peach and Vert Enchanté. They are both gorgeous colors and I can't wait to try them out! I didn't want to swatch them or else I wouldn't have any product to try out later on! :)

That was everything I got in my box! Like I said before, I am super pleased with these items! I can't wait to try them all out! :) If you are interested in signing up for Wantable, go here. I hope you enjoyed and I will talk to you soon!

Furless Brush Review

Hi loves!

I recently had the opportunity to try out a few brushes from the company Furless! This Australian company caught my eye because they don't use animal fur for their brushes. As most of you know, I have two pet rabbits. Rabbits are one of the many animals that get tested on in the beauty industry. I love my buns like they are my babies (they are my fur babies)! These brushes are not only great for animal lovers, but they are great for people with allergies as well. These brushes are more hygienic and hypoallergenic. Synthetic fur brushes last far longer and are a lot softer than animal fur brushes.

Ipsy Bag: September 2013

Hello gorgeous!

Today I'm showing you what I got in my September Ipsy bag! I wasn't super excited about all the products I got this time just because I'd rather have all makeup products instead of hair care products. I know there are lots of ladies out there that LOVED receiving the shampoo and conditioner from John Freida but for me.. it was just okay.

This months bag was "Classic Beauty" themed. "From Mona Lisa to Monroe, classic beauties have made us swoon from generation to generation. It's a month to showcase all the gorgeous you've got with September "Classic Beauty" Glam Bag." I wasn't a huge fan of the bag either but I always enjoy getting bags that I can just throw in my purse to ensure nothing messes up the inside of my bag! Let's get to the pictures and products I received!

If you didn't already know, Michelle Phan is the creator of Ipsy. She just recently released her own makeup brand so she had little "sample" palette's sent out so everyone could try them out. I haven't tried it yet just because it's a one-time use sample and I didn't want to waste it on a swatch because I want to try it out and see how I like it.

The full size of the Life Palette that she sent testers of has 38 different shades for the eyes, cheeks and lips.

These are the samples I got. I will have to try them out one day and see how I like them! I really like the colors because they are neutral which is great for fall and winter!

John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo and Conditioner: This is the two products I wasn't happy about receiving. I would have rather had a makeup product instead. I'm not really into hair products, especially shampoo and conditioner. I honestly don't even heat style my hair that often and I've never colored my hair.

*Buy one Full Repair item, get one 50% off at drugstore.com. Use the code: IPSY at checkout.

Elizabeth Mott's It's So Big Volumizing Mascara: I'm excited to try this product out. I'm always trying to find mascara's that help my eyelashes look fuller. I've never heard of this brand before but I really like the wand!

*Receive 50% off any purchase at elizabethmott.com/shop/ipsy. Use the code: IPSYBIG at checkout.

Starlooks Obsidian Kohl Eye Pencil: I've tried Starlooks products before when I reviewed a box for them. I really enjoy their products. The pencil is super creamy and glides on very easily! The color is super black which I love!

*Receive 20% off purchases of $35 or more at starlooks.com. Use the code: IPSY at checkout.

NYX Single Eye Shadow in Sparkle White: I have always loved NYX products so I am always happy to see them in my bags! This color is a perfect inner corner and highlight color! It's not even white- more of a beige shimmer. I love it!

*Receive 30% off on NYX Eye Shadow Bases and NYX High Definition Eye Shadow Bases at nyxcosmetics.com. Use the code: IPSYPRIME at checkout.

Like I said before, I wasn't super fond of this months bag but I have definitely gotten amazing bags in the past and can't wait for next months! For those of you that don't know about IPSY, it is a monthly makeup subscription service. Each month you will receive a bag filled with 4-5 deluxe samples or full sized products. If you would like to join ipsy, you can do so by using my referral linkWhat's great about this service is that you can skip a month if you don't have the money or just don't want the bag for some reason that month. No penalty whatsoever! As you can see from the products I received in this bag, it's a great bag for only $10!

There is usually a waiting list for this high demand subscription service but you shouldn't have to wait too long before getting in on the goodies! I was on the list for maybe 2 weeks and I'm so glad I waited! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me! :)

*Disclosure regarding my ipsy referral link: If 2 people sign up through me, I get one free product in a future ipsy bag. (That goes for anyone who is an active member of ipsy or a current waitlister. You only get 1 free product per month meaning that if you have 3 people sign up in the month of August, only 2 of them will count. This process starts over the first of every month.)

On August 25th, the Metro Atlanta Beauty Bloggers got together in Roswell for a meetup! We had a fantastic afternoon catching up, chatting 'blog talk' in person, and swapping makeup goodies!
